![]() 1) Adult content production on Tumblr is relatively small and mostly confined to subgroups. Recently, an Italian research team presented their findings of Pornography Consumption in Social Media, with three areas of major learnings. Tumblr’s own terms of service state that “no individual under the age of thirteen (13) may use the Services”, but let’s be honest – Tumblr is not known for its moderation. That however, doesn’t stop anyone from accessing it. Parents should know – first and foremost – that Tumblr has a Mature rating of 17+. Overall, the biggest concern with Tumblr is the open and available access to illicit content. While this site attracts and caters mostly to the creative, off-beat user, there is also an alarming amount of pornography available within reach. “Due to its fast-paced communication style, multiple mediums and heavy use of sometimes specific imagery, pop-culture references and slang, Tumblr is unsurprisingly most popular among young Millennials, with 5.3 million users in this age group,” states. While Tumblr has attempted to monitor its content, dangerous links and images still exist. However, each has proactively banned accounts, images, or descriptions that refer to self-harm practices in a positive light. Other social networking sites have faced similar problems with links and images to self-harm content. She suggests that Tumblr is the worst offender of entrenching the disorder among those viewing the message or images, preventing them from seeking help. “We hear that Tumblr is where people are constantly seeing content that is very triggering and very harmful,” says Susie Roman, National Eating Disorders Association’s (NEDA) Director of Programs. Some of these images glorify dangerous habits and behaviors. On Tumblr, anyone can search for “suicide” or “anorexia” and connect with hundreds of images and blogs that link to that specific topic. That being said, it’s not rocket science to figure out and any child can do a quick internet search to find out how to disable it. Tumblr does have the option for safe search, which is the default setting, and unless you specifically know where to look chances are you wouldn’t easily know how to turn it off. While someone like myself may have every intention of searching for makeup trends or reading the latest book review, it’s possible – or more likely, probable – that you’ll stumble onto something racy. The issue is that users tag things incorrectly (on purpose, sometimes) or use confusing abbreviations that may not shout “Inappropriate Content Ahead” to the average visitor. Searching for a subject, keyword or using a tag will lead you down a rabbit hole – and that’s standard procedure here. Where things get a little dicey is in the content discovery.Įverything is on Tumblr. Now, newer apps like Instagram, Snapchat and Musical.ly have enticed some kids away. Tumblr was relatively popular among tweens and teens in its heyday, circa 2013. You can “reblog” posts, photos or videos that you like and share to your blog for your followers to see. Users can follow their favorite interests, other Tumblrs and brand influencers to share content to and from. Tumblr is a microblogging and social networking site that allows users to create an online diary or blog. On many sites, inappropriate content is only two clicks away, and in Tumblr’s case, it can be stumbled upon innocently within a user’s feed. Tumblr has earned a sordid reputation – and for good reason.

![]() I am from Canada and we have it a little less but still this is a big issue. The only one point I hesitated to give is the loud location by drunk or doped people which (again) is a continental problem I guess. I asked for refrigerator and blow dryer to the room, still waiting I am sure they will help with that. And the newly installed elevator is working fine. The windows need cleaning but I think the entire North American Continent has that "dirty windows" problem (I guess due to its opening system) Shower was quite nice, bed really comfy and clean(NO BEDBUGS insight !! It was difficult to find a hotel without an online bedbug warning in here. The hotel is Not super-modern but quite clean. Manager Chris has been awesome, samely the girls at the front. Will definitely consider this hotel for future stays. The manager Chris was very nice on our departure. The room was decent size for San Francisco standards with a small bathroom and shower. The beds were very comfortable and the mattresses are on the soft side with plenty of pillows. They do provide earplugs for light sleepers though. The room we got was on the 5th floor near the back of the hotel facing the street, there was some noise but didn't bother us. It seems like the restaurant is only open to serve breakfast which unfortunately I didn't get to try due to sleeping in. The receptionist were all very nice and provide bottled water for all guests. The hotel is located in the tenderloin area which in itself has a lot of homeless but only saw one encampment to the side of the hotel, they didn't cause any issues. Just two blocks away from the mall and 3 blocks from the parking garage on 5th St. I was actually very surprised by this hotel. The value of using the mid-point allows the trader to glean into the activity of the day. If there was a ton of volatility, the mid-point will be larger. ![]() The one twist the awesome oscillator adds to the mix, is that the moving averages are calculated using the mid-point of the candlestick instead of the close. The formula compares two moving averages, one short-term and one long-term. Comparing two different time periods is pretty common for a number of technical indicators. If you have a basic understanding of math, you can sort out the awesome oscillator equation. While on the surface one could think the awesome oscillator indicator is comprised of a complicated algorithm developed by a whiz kid from M.I.T., you may be surprised to learn the indicator is a basic calculation of two simple moving averages. That’s right folks, not an EMA or displaced moving average, but yes, a simple moving average. Unlike the slow stochastics, which is range bound from +100 to -100, the awesome oscillator is boundless. Hi Jarnoh, if you don’t mind, I can link here my OSCulator config file for nanoKontrol.Well by definition, the awesome oscillator is just that, an oscillator. The same with White balance, Clarity, etc. OSCulator change the range of values of the faders, changing the maximum and the minimum value sent to Knobroom, so I can adjust Exposure fader to -2 to +2 for example, and the response of the fader is more acurated. I can control the limits of each fader, and its became easer to use the faders. May be Jarnoh will include these feature on future versions, but I am very happy using OSCulator, ease to configure and remap the MIDI comands. Regarding to program the push buttons on nanoKontrol, its very easy using OSCulator or midistroke (please check my comment above). On BCF2000 the motorized faders are updated to reflect current image parameters, so is more intuitive. This is not intuitive, because I moved down and Exposure goes up on the image… This is because the faders position are not updated on nanoKontrol. When I move the fader, lets say, a little down, the exopsure jumps to +0,9. If I move the faders during this time, image will not change.Īnother situation is when I change an image with Exposure +1 for example and move to the next, the fader still is in +1 position, and the current image is Exposure 0. When I jump to the next image, Lightroom loads all parameters in Develop mode, and it takes sometime. I have some delay ragarding adjusting an image with nanoKontrol. I was fully aware of the double meaning when I named the software – I hope it’s at least very hard to forget the name once you realize it… □ Comments It was already a bit slow to initialize, and there will be many more options in the future releases, so it also needs some kind of grouping. ![]() One of the excuses is that I’m replacing the control assignment display. I’m also working on the 0.2 release, which has been taking a bit longer than I had hoped. Akai has 8 velocity sensitive buttons (think of it as a small drum pad) and 8 rotary knobs. I do have a Akai LPD-8 controller in the closet, I probably should investigate how it works with the current version. That’s how world operated before the motorized faders came affordable □ (I think that is what I saw on the video. It has non-motorized slides and knobs, so when adjusting a new picture, you first have to slide to old value, then the slider will start controlling the new value. The process for making Silly Putty is relatively simple and involves only a few steps. Even the plastic eggs in which the silly putty is packaged has remained for the original marketing campaign. The original design has not been significantly changed. Silly putty was a serendipitous design that resulted from the combination of boric acid and silicone oil. A homemade recipe can be made from mixing together water, white glue, and borax solution. Powdered fillers (clay and calcium carbonate) and dry pigments (to produce color or glitter) are also added. Silly Putty is made from a mixture of silicone polymers (about 70 wt%) and other chemicals, including boric acid. ![]() ![]() More than 300 million eggs-or 4,000 tons of Silly Putty-have been sold since 1950, which is enough to stretch around the earth nearly three times. Binney & Smith produces more thanġ2,000 eggs or 300 lb (136.2 kg) each day. Each egg contains 0.47 oz (13.5 g) and sells for about $1.00. Most Silly Putty is still packaged in plastic eggs. In 1991, "Glow in the Dark" was introduced, though classic Silly Putty has remained the best seller. A market study at this time showed that nearly 70% of American households had purchased Silly Putty at some time. Binney & Smith, the maker of Crayola products who has manufactured Silly Putty since 1977, added four fluorescent colors in 1990-magenta, orange, green, and yellow. The eight million units produced in 1998 is four times what was produced in 1987. The Columbus Zoo in Ohio has even used it to make casts of the hands and feet of gorillas for educational purposes. In 1968, the Apollo 8 astronauts carried Silly Putty into space in a specially designed sterling silver egg to alleviate boredom and help fasten down tools in the weightless environment. It has also been used in stress-reduction and physical therapy (athletes have used it to strengthen their grip), and in other medical and scientific situations (like smoking cessation programs). It picks up dirt, lint, and pet hair, and can stabilize wobbly furniture. It was only after its success as a toy that practical uses were also found for Silly Putty. By the time Hodgson died in 1976, Silly Putty had made him a multi-millionaire. Six years later, Silly Putty was introduced to the Soviet Union, followed by Europe, where it was a hit in Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Italy. However, by 1955 Silly Putty was most popular with kids ages six to 12 years old. Initially, its market as a novelty item was 80% adult. Though Hodgson introduced Silly Putty at the International Toy Fair in New York in February of 1950, it was not until several months later when an article appeared in The New Yorker magazine that sales took off. Hodgson bought the production rights from GE and renamed it Silly Putty, packaging it in plastic eggs because Easter was on the way. Several years later, an unemployed copywriter named Peter Hodgson recognized its marketing potential as a children's toy, after first seeing it advertised at a local toy store as an adult gift. ![]() War Production Board, found it more practical than the synthetic rubber already then being produced. In any event, Wright is still officially credited with the invention.īy 1945, General Electric (GE) had shared this discovery with scientists around the world, only to find that none of them, including those at the U.S. Corning Glass Works, who was also developing a substitute for rubber, applied for a patent in 1943 and received it in 1947 for treating dimethyl silicone polymer with boric oxide. There is some debate on who received the first patent. In addition, the substance would copy any newspaper or comic-book print that it touched. By combining boric acid with silicone oil, a material resulted that would stretch and bounce farther than rubber, even at extreme temperatures. In 1943, Silly Putty was accidentally invented by James Wright, an engineer in General Electric's New Haven laboratory, which was under a government contract to create an inexpensive substitute for synthetic rubber for the war effort. ![]() Once you finish, your video will be uploaded to Loom. To give an early example, you might use the blue trapdoor in the floor of the lighthouse to form the other half of a broken bridge in the snowy urban factory setting on the tile next door. Or maybe that bicycle wheel in the flooded storage room - which appears on another side of the cube after opening said trapdoor - can be combined with the very similar-looking mechanical lever in the lighthouse's central pillar to let you change the angle of the pedal - which in turn can then be used to unlock a gate in that factory tile I just mentioned.
